FNL: Grade 5-6 Heading to Championship

    Friday Night League

Fifth and Sixth grade Championship

        By Isabella Mignano

Friday Night League was a huge success! Every week the stands were filled with friends and family, supporting the different teams. The playoff games were on October 18th, and the championship was to be played on October 19th.

The 5th and 6th grade boys teams in the playoffs, wondered if they will make it to the end. All the boys worked so hard to make it to the championship. It was determined that Duke vs. North Carolina would be playing for first place. “I practiced for hours,” said Joseph Mignano, a fierce competitor on Duke.  They entered the game with their stomachs full of butterflies, hoping their team would win. They played like they have never played before. The game was so close, it had to go into overtime! At the end, North Carolina took the win. Overall, the Friday Night League was such an enjoyment for not only the kids, but the adults as well! Everyone is looking forward to next year!
