My Basketball Journey

CYO basketball is something I never thought I would have such a passion for, but it exceeded my expectations.I’m on the 6th grade girls team and  I joined this year. When it was time for tryouts I was beyond nervous, but I was comforted when I noticed some of the girls that I went to school with were also there.  On the first tryout i thought I did ok, but the anxiety of whether or not  I made the team grew larger and larger. A few days later I got the results! 

I made it! I was overcome with emotions and very excited to finally be able to play on a team! 

Several weeks later it was finally time to play our first game!    

When I entered the basketball court my adrenalin was pumping and I was ready to play my hardest.There was a few seconds left and St. Charles was up by 1 point.The buzzer blared as 

The sixth grade girls jumped up in triumph when they had realized they won!  I was overcome with emotions of excitement, enthusiasm, and shock! I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful team and extraordinary coaches. So far I’ve had a wonderful season!  Currently the Sixth grade girls B team is 7-3 (7 wins and 3 losses).And there are 6 more games until playoffs, The whole team is working harder than ever, but we still have fun and stay productive.
