Third Grade Girls Extreme Victory
Third Grade Girls Extreme Victory
By Marcello Signorastri
On the second of March, the third grade girls played their Championship game on the big court at St Joseph by the Sea High School.
They were playing Sacred Heart, and one team would be leaving as champions !
This is what some of the players had to say about this exciting win. Olivia Bruno-Dunn stated,” I felt nervous at first, but as the game went on, I felt a little more confident.” She also said it was very tiring. Stella Gerbino, another player on the team, said it was very exciting to be playing on a high school court. Emma Bruno-Dunn, the MVP of the game, (congratulations to you) stated, “ I thought we had an advantage because we were used to practicing on the big court.”
The game was a hard fought battle with the score going back and forth . The Bruno-Dunn twins led the scoring for the team , and with some clutch foul shooting from Emma , they were on top when the final buzzer rang, 19-17 !
Abigail Robinsky is the only second Grader on the team. She stated,” I enjoy being with third graders because I learn from them. However, I sometimes don’t like how everyone thinks I’m in third instead of second grade.”
All of the players were overwhelmed by the support of the fans . They felt so excited to hear the charger fans cheering them on the entire game.
The game was the most exciting game they had
played all season and they are now the SI Champions ! They will be playing for the State Championship March 9-10th !
Good Luck to these hard working athletes.
